Russell Pearce Still Threatening Another Term.

Straight from the horse's mouth (apparently we're still on his email list of "supporters"). The typos are all his, by the way. 

I'm not sure which Constitution he's referring to defending, since he's responsible for some of the most aggregious, fascist legislation I've ever seen. It must be the same Constitution that codified slavery he loves so much...he seems to have missed that there have been a few amendments and legal rulings to give the rest of us rights, since it was originally written for white propertied men like him. The "Founders original intent," remember, was to keep most of the rest of us subservient as sub-citizens. He definitely champions that!

I have been vigilant in the defense of freedom and our Constitutional principles at the legislature as well as my entire life.  I have worked as a Maricopa County Deputy for 23 years and I am the former Chief Deputy. I have been shot at and missed and shot at and hit, as I was critically shot by gang members while in the line of duty while serving our community.  I created "tent" city for inmates and saved millions in the cost for the taxpayer.  I have worked as the Director of the Motor Vehicle Department and reduced Government waist and long wait times at MVD, and cut administrative cost by $10 million. For 10 years now, I have served the people at the state legislature. 8 years with the State House of Representatives and for the last 2 years as a Senator. I am the current Chairman of the Senator Appropriations Committee and served 6 years as the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. It is now election time and I am running for re-election for my 2^nd term as State Senator and I really need and would be very grateful to have your help!

Shame on Pearce. How About Democracy?

Don't even know if I'll be in town, myself, but just got this Pearce Alert from his campaign and couldn't resist letting folks know about this event. You really must visit the website below - it's scary.

As I recall, it's basically about the secret software they use to help people email their lawmakers and get around the state programs that would divert mass mailings to spam. So, it gives one segment of the voting population access to their legislators while keeping the back door they use a secret from the rest of us (you have to pledge to uphold their values if you use their software to write your legislators, or else something bad might happen, I guess.). That doesn't seem very fair. Pearce is trumpeting something that any good representative of The People in a true democracy should be ashamed of exploiting.


"State Sovereignty", by the way, is code for White Supremacy - often used in the Jim Crow South that challenged federal civil rights mandates and such, among other things...

Goddard Campaign Stop SAT NOV 14

Hey All - don't know who's out Maricopa way, but we don't have to go in and pay $65 to get attention drawn to prison / sentencing / CJ reform and prison privatization concerns. There's all sorts of ways to bring it to the Democrats' attention...

Note that David Lujan will also be there - he wants to be the next Attorney General - so we've got to catch him.

Pinal County Democrats hosting Fall Gala in Maricopa

Attorney General Terry Goddard will be the featured speaker at the Democratic Fall Gala in Maricopa.

Pinal County Democrats and the Province Democratic Club will host their 2009 Fall Gala Dinner at Province on Saturday, Nov. 14. Featured guests will be Attorney General Terry Goddard and Maricopa City Councilman Edward Farrell.

Reservations are required, and tickets to this event are $65 each. Table sponsorships start at $500.

The event will be held at the Province Town Hall, 20942 N. Province Pkwy. Registration begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

"This is a great opportunity to hear Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard," said Joe Robison, chairman of the Pinal County Democrats. "Terry Goddard is a favorite to be the next governor of Arizona and has an excellent and extensive record of public service in Arizona. He will be an asset as our next governor.”

City of Maricopa Council member and candidate Edward Farrell is slated to speak about the past and future of the city of Maricopa.

Among other candidates or potential candidates scheduled to attend are: State Senator Rebecca Rios, State Representative Barbara McGuire, County Clerk Kristi Youtsey Ruiz and potential Arizona Attorney General candidate David Lujan. Potential U.S. Senate candidate Rodney Glassman will sing the National Anthem.
